Jewish Meditation Lecture II

We are pleased to present the second in a series of four lectures given at the Jewish meditation retreat held at Kibbutz Hannaton in the Galil, March 11-17, 2012. Our second lecturer is by Dr. Stephen Fulder The main subject  of this lecturer is “God and the Divine. The movement from believing to being.”

 

The founder and most senior teacher of the organization Tovana, Stephen has been practicing vipassana meditation since 1975. Steven is a scientist who has dedicated his life to studying spirituality and therapy for the body and the inner self, specializing in the field of herbal medicine. He has also published twelve academic works and leads courses in meditation and Dharma throughout Israel. Steven was an early supporter of using Dharma to promote peace in society. He is one of the founders and directors of the Golden Path, a non-profit organization that promotes nonviolence, compassion and peace. In addition, he is also a director of Citizens for the Environment.

Dr. Stephen Fulder – received an M.A. from Oxford University and PhD in Biochemistry from London. He devoted his life to exploring inner and outer healing and spirituality, and as an author, consultant and lecturer on herbs and natural medicine, have had 14 books published, both academic and popular, as well as many articles on health, and also on Buddhist teachings. He has been practicing dharma since 1975, and is the founder and senior teacher of the Israel Insight Society, a main Vipassana meditation and dharma teaching organization in Israel. He also established and taught programs which apply spiritual teachings to aid peace and healing in the communities in the Middle East. He is founder of Middleway, a charity to promote peaceful change in the region, Akoda, a peace leadership school, and Citizens for the Environment. In addition He has been involved in linking the transforming spiritual insights of dharma practice with Jewish teachings, exploring ways in which Jews and Israelis can integrate authentic Buddhist practice within their life and biography.
