By Yoram Getzler.Tal Brody is probably the most well known American oleh(immigrant) to Israel, (other than Golda Meyer). He was drafted # 12 in the National Basketball Association (NBA) draft, but chose to pass up an NBA career to instead play basketball in Israel.
He led the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team to its first European Cup victory in 1977. “We are on the map, and will stay on the map” was his famous victory statement. He played on national basketball teams of both the United States and Israel, and served in the armies of both countries.
Today active in business and philanthropic activities. He is also busy as an official Good Will Ambassador of the State of Israel.
Concern over the Boycott movement against Israel, he is activity involved in an internet venture to promote the distribution and sail of Israeli consumer products.
