If you’ve ever been to a Passover seder or seen a nervous groom stamp on a glass at a wedding, you know that longing for Jerusalem is at the heart of soooo many Jewish traditions.
Today we call it Zionism, but what is all this returning to the Land of Israel about? Where did it come from and how did it go from a theoretical wish-list item to a political, social and cultural movement?
