This Week’s Sanity Report from Israel Sept. 5, 2021

Many of Israel’s recent achievements connect new ideas and technology to long-standing problems or issues. In medicine, new Israeli treatments tackle cancer and autoimmune diseases; and there’s an Israeli solution to the old problem of affordable healthcare. Autistic Israelis are making valuable contributions in hi-tech and new initiatives are resolving the old Arab-Israeli conflict.

An Israeli NGO is resolving the “never-ending” scourge of drought in Africa; a new Israeli foodtech center addresses worldwide hunger and an Israeli startup is cultivating the Biblical carob crop. Meanwhile, Israeli apps restore fitness to tired old bodies and bring old photos to life.

Finally, services have returned to a restored Jerusalem synagogue; Jerusalem’s Western Wall has received a record delivery of mail, and an ancient regenerated date palm has produced a massive crop of fruit.

The photo is of the refurbished ANU Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv containing exciting new exhibits, highlighting old traditions.

the highlights include:

ISRAEL’S MEDICAL ACHIEVEMENTS
