Steve Ornstein – Today Would have Been Your 79th Birthday
Today would have been your 79th year on this planet. But you are still here in my heart, emotions, mind, and bones with all the incredible lives we shared with so many laughs, cries, and children we wanted. WE decided when and where. It was so mystical that the ordinary was so special.
When you returned to the ashram we met again and after drinking peppermint tea I took your hand and we walked to the little forest behind the pond, and you seduced this Jewish kid from the Bronx that had traveled halfway around the world to find himself. There you were, as you looked into my eyes, and I became ME that guy I spent years searching for. I was not sure if we were even on this planet as you gently showed me the way with a woman knowing that my life had changed forever.
It was after that I found out you were pregnant, and you knew exactly what you were doing.
Excited but not yet fully committed you sent me a letter sharing that you were not going to continue with me as I apparently was not serious enough. I read it in disbelief and decided not to let you get away without a fight. So, I traveled to the city and asked you to be with me. You looked me in the eyes, kissed me and we left for the Ashram.
After moving in with me at the ashram our friends that were married took control of the situation and arranged our wedding. It was so special. Just friends-devotees of the spirit sharing the love of this moment. In your long flowing white dress and my white shirt bought by my close friend Steve Frank we began our incredible journey together. To be continued..
