Steve Ornstein – During My Morning Meditation in Kfar Saba
During Morning Meditation
All around me, dark clouds fill the sky
Thunder can be heard in the distance.
As I look around daily life continues-
Kids with parents on their way to school.
Smiles and hugs dominate the goodbyes.
A forewarning can be heard in the distance as it has
For over two thousand years or so.
Numerous feelings pass thru me
As my mind’s never ceasing adventure.
As I sit on my sofa in meditation every morning
Listening to the birds sing, the cars pass by, and then Silence.
The present uproots the darkness
Real or imagined.
I cry out in silence
Voiceless unable to speak!
Mindfulness of being I cry out to the ONE!
Bless my children and grandchildren.
Unable to stop there: Bless my friends
Unable to stop there Bless my community, country, and the world.
And then my voice reappears and All I can say out loud is
Shma Yisrael!
Then it releases me
Frees Me
Where the ME no longer exists-
Here I am HaShem ( The Name)
In the garden unaware of my own nakedness.
Just BEING!
