Steve Kramer – FINALLY, BREXIT

Brexit (the nickname given to the British vote to disengage from the European Union) is a done deal, thanks to British voters. I’m pleased that they have upset the European Union, a major institution of “One World Government” and a cohort of the United Nations. Labeled a “conspiracy theory” by many, the trend towards a unitary world government is, in my opinion, a true threat, whether well-intentioned or not. The new world order, open society, global goals, global community, universal agenda –  all promote an end to national states for the benefit of the world’s citizens. How’s that working out for us?

Wikipedia’s definition: “World government is the notion of a common political authority for all of humanity, yielding a global government and a single state that exercises authority over the entire Earth. Such a government could come into existence either through violent and compulsory world domination, or through peaceful and voluntary supranational union.”

I think the peaceful alternative (I’m ignoring the other option) to reach “world peace and prosperity” is a crock. The United Nations is a major impediment to this worthy goal, while the European Union is a lesser evil, but still one that, on balance, robs citizens of rights granted to them by their home countries. Obviously, the voters of one of the EU’s major constituent countries agrees.

For Israel, the EU is a permanent source of trouble. The major headline in a recent Jerusalem Post edition was, “UN, EU plan to empower Palestinian Women would help PA sue Israel in ICC [International Criminal Court].” Further on, we learn, “Portion of money given to create empowerment plan for Palestinian women intended to be spent on internationalized activities to fight Israel’s ‘occupation’ of the West Bank. The United Nations and the European Union have actively helped the Palestinian Authority build its global advocacy campaign against the Jewish state; including it’s filing of ‘war crimes’ complaints about Israel before the International Criminal Court.” This is just one in a series of hostile acts by the international community towards Israel aimed at robbing the Jews of their national home, piece by piece.

Both the UN and the EU actively discriminate against Israel. The reason both organizations are racist is because Israel, far more than any other country, is singled out disproportionally from all other nations to condemn, censure, and punish. The EU is currently in the midst of enforcing a boycott against goods imported into the EU from Israel, particularly Judea and Samaria, collectively stigmatized as the “West Bank.” The Israeli citizens who inhabit these parts of the Jewish homeland are further stigmatized by the term “settlers,” which has taken on a derogatory meaning given only to Jews.

To take but one example of many situations which definitely deserve censure, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus resulted from the 1974 invasion of Cyprus by Turkey, effectively dividing the island of Cyprus into two “states.” Because the Turkish Republic is considered illegal by the UN, and because Cyprus is a member of the EU, one would expect that products from the Turkish Republic would be labeled and in effect boycotted by the EU. However, no such action has been taken.

As for the United Nations, it is rife with anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism. Its Human Rights Council (UNHRC), a “do-over” from its disgraced predecessor, the Commission on Human Rights, has 47 member states tasked to promote and protect human rights around the globe. Despite that, its main function is to vilify Israel. The Council’s agenda item 7 mandates that at each UNHRC session, Israel’s record of human rights must be debated. No other country in the world has a yearly reoccurring agenda item dedicated to it alone. (JewishVirtualLibrary.com)

“As of 2015, Israel has been condemned in 62 resolutions by the Council since its creation in 2006. The Council has resolved more resolutions condemning Israel than the rest of the world combined, and had passed almost more resolutions condemning Israel than on the rest of the world combined.” (wikipedia.com) The UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council are similarly preoccupied with discussing and condemning Israel.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) doesn’t just help the world’s children. It has a virulent anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist outlook. Its current campaign against Israel officiously and officially names ancient Jewish sites by their Muslim titles, thereby seeking to erase the Jewish connection to places such as the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron and even Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. This is not a trivial matter.

Recently, Laurie Cardoza-Moore, UN Special Envoy for the World Council of Independent Christian Churches (WCICC) attended meetings at the United Nations to condemn UNESCO’s effort to deny the historic, cultural and religious connection between the Jewish people and the Temple Mount. Cardozo-Moore said, “We cannot afford to stand by as Jewish history is publicly denied by an organization of the United Nations. Denying the Jewish people’s connection to the Temple Mount is tantamount to denying the existence of the Jewish people and is therefore even more grave than Holocaust Denial.” (jewishpress.com)

The rationale of the United Nations, shared by the much smaller European Union, is that a supranational governing body knows better than its member states. It alone should make the laws that govern the citizens of those states, because the technocrats running these “unions” are much wiser than the masses of ordinary citizens. But most of us “hoi polloi” believe that individual states, provinces, and countries better represent their populations than some far-off organization run by high-living bureaucrats. The citizens of Britain proved that by voting to exit the EU, which the voters believed had gone far beyond its mandate for regulating commerce.

It’s a fact that organizations such as the UN and the EU can be taken over by those with agendas that are undemocratic and in Israel’s case, clearly anti-Semitic. It’s a possibility that others may try to use these global organizations to create a One World scenario. (George Soros & Open Society immediately come to mind.) I, and many others, would like to see the dissolution of the UN, perhaps to be replaced by a union of democracies. That would certainly work better than the motley, undemocratic group currently running the UN.

Brexit is a good thing. Let’s hope that it has repercussions that prove it to be the correct decision.
