The main page conveniently brings together news impacting Israel from various sources that are monitored to ensure that only truthful reporting will be displayed. A quick glance at the website’s Facebook page Facebook.com/IsraPort shows eye-opening articles that were featured on the website; articles that one would have a hard time finding via mainstream media outlets. An “alternate startpage” is also available for those who prefer a simple homepage with only a search box and links to some widely used websites. When asked about what he hopes to achieve, founder Oren Shai stated, “Until now, there was no website that gave you access to all of the news regarding Israel in an easy-to-read way. There was definitely no website that did so while making sure the content was truthful and fair. With IsraPort.org it is easier for those who might not have the time to scour the internet for news or the knowledge to judge the accuracy of an article, to get honest news right away.”
As to the concept of donating all profits to pro-Israel organizations, Mr. Shai went on to say, “Imagine that every time someone in the pro-Israel community uses the internet, a little bit goes towards organizations that make Israel stronger. If we all set our homepage to either IsraPort.org or IsraPort.org/startpage we can generate incredible support for these organizations. It’s a simple concept – but it has enormous potential.”
