This is the atmosphere in which the Palestinian leadership undermines any serious attempt at a compromise.
Only One Party Responsible for Progress
This week UK Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg had spoke in a “gratuitous bashing” of Israel after he said the country was doing “immense damage” to the Middle East peace process by continuing with “illegal” settlement-building which he said amounted to “an act of deliberate vandalism” that threatened a two-state solution.
This statement made with no reference to the long list of actions taken by the Palestinians that don’t so much threaten the peace process as make the very idea of such a process into a joke. Their oft spoken intention of totally destroying the ‘Zionist Entity’, the constant barrage of rockets and mortar shells being fired into civilian communities, (680 mortars and Grad missiles in 2011), and worst of all, the educating of their children to hate Israel, to think of Jews as pigs and monkeys and instilling them with the desire to become suicide bombers and martyr themselves in the pursuit of spilling Jewish blood.
Then of course there is complete and total ignoring of the public religious instigation of hatred as displayed by the highest religious authority in the Palestinian community, the Mufti of Palestine; Muhammad Hussein, , at an event in honor of Fatah, the” moderate” component of the Palestinian national movement.
“Muslims’ destiny is to kill Jews . Resurrection will come only after Jews are killed by Muslims.

The moderator at the event who introduced the Mufti reminded his listeners that “Our war with the descendants of the apes and pigs (i.e., Jews) is a war of religion and faith”

“Our war with the descendants of the apes and pigs (i.e., Jews)
is a war of religion and faith.
Long Live Fatah! [I invite you,] our honorable Sheikh.”
PA Mufti Muhammad Hussein comes to the podium and says:
“47 years ago the [Fatah] revolution started. Which revolution? The modern revolution of the Palestinian people’s history. In fact, Palestine in its entirety is a revolution, since [Caliph] Umar came [to conquer Jerusalem, 637 CE], and continuing today, and until the End of Days. The reliable Hadith (tradition attributed to Muhammad), [found] in the two reliable collections, Bukhari and Muslim, says:
“The Hour [of Resurrection] will not come until you fight the Jews.
The Jew will hide behind stones or trees.
Then the stones or trees will call:
‘Oh Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’
Except the Gharqad tree [which will keep silent].”
Therefore it is no wonder that you see Gharqad [trees]
surrounding the [Israeli] settlements and colonies..”
