Every state has its national anthem
These usually express national dreams and visions
Sometimes they refer to wars and victory
Some include the choice of the Supreme and blessings
But each nation expresses its deepest self vision
All nations but Israel
The dream of the Jews for a state
The vision of freedom in our own land
The hope of generations
For a land of our own
In Tzion and Jerusalem
It seems that –All of this is questionable
In fact some would say
Undemocratic
After all some of our population
Don’t have a common vision
Of Zion
or a Jewish dream of two
Millennium to be a free nation in our land
In Eretz Tzion
Yet we are a nation like any other
We too have the right to have a national anthem
We too have the right to national Jewush aspirations.
And HaTikva expresses our unending
HOPE to be a free people in our land
All are welcome to sing with us
All are welcome to join us
All can have hope with us us
But HaTikva
Is the national anthem
of the Jewish State
