We faced Jerusalem
As our cure
For our isolated
And troubled souls
Jerusalem was Vision
Jerusalem was more
Than ruins
More than wailing
More than history
Jerusalem was perfection
Jerusalem was Messianic
Jerusalem was completion
Jerusalem was removing
The veil covering the
Face of God.
Jerusalem was beyond
Nationalism
It was “Super-Naturalism”
Jerusalem was
The word of God
Coming forth to us and
The World
Jerusalem is incomplete
When we “capitalize” it only
And forget the vision
Jerusalem is
Higher than
A Kotel of Stones
Or an embassy
It’s the very heart
And heartbeat
Of Israel .
We must remember
Jerusalem
As we live in it.
