Jonathan Sacks WATCH: ‘There is Hardly a Country in the World Where Jews Feel Safe’
The U.K.’s former chief rabbi delivered a powerful and frightening speech in front of Parliament.
Former Chief Rabbi of the U.K. Jonathan Sacks presented a chilling speech last week in Parliament’s House of Lords. Rabbi Sacks’ message was intended to wake up the assembled lawmakers to the fact that rising anti-Semitism in modern-day Europe resembles the virulent Jew-hatred that marked the Holocaust era.
As the number of survivors dwindles and memories of the Holocaust fade, anti-Semitism remains rampant throughout the world. In fact, stated Rabbi Sacks, Jews do not feel safe in any country.
As Rabbi Sacks underscored, the need for the State of Israel as a refuge and homeland for the Jewish people becomes clearer each day.
