An Israeli delegation of high school students attended the World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions, hosted by Yale University last week. The team received dozens of gold medals and trophies in some of the tournament’s most prestigious categories.

The delegation included 16 students from two Israeli schools located in Petah Tikva. The students demonstrated impressive abilities and competed in rhetoric and debate, writing challenges in various disciplines, and multi-media exams.

Students demonstrated high English proficiency as well as knowledge in science, literature, history, sociology and more. They won dozens of individual and team gold medals in several prestigious categories.

The World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions is a prestigious international competition, in which 3600 students from 60 countries around the world compete for international intellectual acclaim.

Petah Tikva Mayor Rami Greenberg praised the students for their excellent achievements and said they demonstrated the excellent educational level of the city’s schools.

“This [achievement] brings great pride to the city’s education system. The students’ accomplishments are impressive and inspiring and were certainly made possible only thanks to their dedication to in-depth studying and mentoring of the teachers Dalia Ben Asa and Yaffa Gluska. Good job, everyone, and way to go champions! “
