The Hebrew University of Jerusalem has become the first university in Israel to adopt American-style alumni networking.

American schools, famous for their student loyalty and dedication to alumni, have long been using alumni as a source of mentoring, jobs and funding for their current students.
For the first time, an Israeli university has partnered with Graduway, one of the world’s leading alumni networking platform providers, to offer the same advantages to Israeli students.
With the launch of HUJIconnect.com, Israel’s leading university, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, has now joined the ranks of Oxford and UCLA and education institutions across 26 countries that use Graduway.
Dr. Shlomit Shulov Barkan, Hebrew University’s Director of Alumni Relations said: “We are excited to be partnering with Graduway and providing more than 30,000 of our alumni with their own exclusive place to professionally and socially connect with one another. 4,000 alumni have already signed up, approximately half have offered to be mentors to students, and 300 jobs have been posted so far. We urge all former students to sign up so that they can benefit from the incredible networking opportunities that come from having studied at the Hebrew University.”

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Hebrew: האוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים, ha-Universita ha-Ivrit B’irushalayim; Arabic: الجامعة العبرية في القدس, al-Ǧāmiʻah al-ʻIbriyyah fil-Quds; abbreviated HUJI) is Israel’s oldest university established in 1918. The Hebrew University has three campuses in Jerusalem and one in Rehovot.[2] The world’s largest Jewish studies library is located on its Edmond J. Safra Givat Ram campus.
The first Board of Governors included Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, Martin Buber, and Chaim Weizmann. Four of Israel’s prime ministers are alumni of the Hebrew University. In the last decade, seven researchers and alumni of the University received the Nobel Prize and one was awarded the Fields Medal.
According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities, the Hebrew University is the top university in Israel, overall the 59th-best university in the world, 16th in mathematics, 27th in computer science and 44th in business/economics.[3] Top 25% Agricultural Economics Departments 26th, as of June 2015 by IDEAS.[4]
In 2015, the Center for World University Rankings ranked the Hebrew University 23st in the world and the top in Israel in its World University Rankings,[5] while another survey ranked it as the 9th best university to work in, and the 2nd best outside of the United States.[6]
