Through their Gospel-style performances, recording artist Neshama Carlebach and The Green Pastures Baptist Church Choir are continuing the legacy of her late father, Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, a prolific Jewish singer and songwriter.
Their original compositions and unique collaboration illustrate the intersection of faith and music. “When I feel my own Judaism most, believe it or not, is when I’m singing with the Baptists”, says Neshama, “I don’t know that I would love my Judaism as much as I do without this experience of embracing people because we are God’s embodiment, all of us.”
