By Harley Zipori. Just a short blog today to keep you informed on a couple events planned this Friday May 25th.
The first event is the 3rd Beer Festival at Zman Amiti in south Tel Aviv (on Eliphelet Street right near the corner of Eilat Street). The festival starts at 11 AM and goes till 6. There is 30 NIS entry fee and 5 NIS for 100ml tasting.
Last year this was a very nice event. Zman Amiti is a bartending school so there are lots of bars there and a nice atmosphere. There was also live music. If it is anything like last year, most of the major boutique brewers will be there plus a good number of the smaller brewers. It is an excellent place to get a good idea of what is going on in the craft brewing world in Israel.
The other event is at the Sar HaMashkaot chain of beverage stores. They have 3 branches, Yafo, Ramat Gan (by the Diamond Bourse) and Petah Tikvah. The Yafo one is not far from Zman Amiti right across from Bloomfield stadium.
The store opens at 9 AM but I am not sure when all the various booths will be set up. It is usually a bit crowded since it is a store but they will have a good representation of the beers and wines they sell including Israeli boutique beers. Entrance and tastes are free which makes it a great event from an economic point of view. Although one does tend to make some purchase there.
I have no idea if I can make it this year and if I do, at what time. but I promise to wear my hat so you will recognize me.
