| Independent editor Sean O’Grady casually likened the “plight” of the Palestinians and the Uighur people. More than one million Uighurs have been interned by Chinese authorities in “re-education” camps since 2017. They’ve endured torture, political indoctrination, forced sterilization, and attempted destruction of their culture. Even casual observers of the conflict know that there is nothing that Palestinians are subjected to by Israeli authorities that even remotely resembles such grotesque oppression. | In his October 18 CNN broadcast, Fareed Zakaria erred on two substantive points. He claimed that Benjamin Netanyahu “halted the promise of annexation of the West Bank.” There was never any “promise of annexation of the West Bank.” There was a proposal to extend sovereignty over certain parts of the disputed territory. Zakaria also falsely referred to “new settlements.” There are no new settlements nor plans for new settlements, only for new homes in existing settlements. CAMERA has requested correction–stay tuned. On BBC, BLM Leader Insists
Criticism of Israel is Being ‘Gagged’ |

| In a BBC Radio interview, BLM UK leader Joshua Virasami claims that criticism of Israel is being “gagged.” But as CAMERA UK’s extensive documentation of the British media’s virulent criticism of Israel shows, if anyone is conspiring to “gag” criticism of the Jewish state, they’re doing a pretty bad job of it. Virasami can’t say exactly who is doing the alleged “gagging,” but his insistence that “a lot of people…would like to see that any conversation surrounding Israel is considered ‘antisemitic'” evokes the toxic narrative that Jews dishonestly use accusations of antisemitism to stifle criticism of Israel.
