PROF. ALAN DERSHOWITZ ENGAGES ISRAEL’S NEXT GENERATION. Takes on the “toughest questions” from international and Israeli students and young professionals, co-hosted by StandWithUs at the prestigious Globes Business Conference in Tel Aviv.
A capacity crowd of 1,200 people came to the Globes Business Conference in Tel Aviv at an event hosted by StandWithUs and the TLV Internationals Salon. The renowned author of “The Case for Israel” and “The Case Against Israel’s Enemies”, as well as his new memoir “Taking The Stand” engaged in a lively session which covered topics such as the Iranian nuclear threat, prospects for Middle East peace, anti-Israel activity on campus, the United Nations, the recent Pew study on Jewish life and many other topics.
The format was questions and answers, which had been pre-submitted by young adults attending the event. Responding to the questions, Dershowitz took aim at pro-Israel academics, both in the diaspora and in Israel, who are not vocal enough about their support for Israel. He implored the audience to do more in their activism for Israel and referred to StandWithUs as “my favorite organization”. Dershowitz’s responses were informative and inspiring, punctuated by anecdotes and good humor.
Alan’s friend and former IAF pilot Danny Grossman introduced the keynote speaker and he was joined at the event by his wife Carolyn. A
ttendees included Israeli-American basketball star and StandWithUs Israel Board Member Tal Brody.
