Michael Ordman: This Week’s Israeli Innovation & Technology News Aug. 2025
Israel’s innovations and positive activities can either be described as “hot stuff” or “really cool”. The high temperatures outside have not reduced the pace of vital developments and good deeds.
The hot topics in Israeli medical research include molecular programming to teach cells to eliminate disease-generating proteins. Also a new model to determine the pre-natal risk of genetic diseases. And the wheels were burning to bring life-saving organs from Cyprus for transplanting into desperate Israeli patients.
The IDF used its fire-power to prevent the Syrian Druze being massacred by Syrian jihadis. Religious boys from Israel were fired up to enlist in IDF combat units. And the President of Argentina launched an initiative to warm relations between Israel and South America.
Israeli hi-tech is certainly on the boil with Technion’s new AI Excellence program. And you can now get Israeli fries with triple the amount of protein.
Egypt has signed to buy Israeli natural gas in the “most significant energy deal in Israeli history”. Successful Israeli startups are firing on all cylinders. Israeli airport tugs are pulling planes to their take-off spots to save them firing up their engines early. Plus more hot Israeli takeovers and mergers.
Plenty of sizzling Israeli sporting successes and concert performances. Meanwhile the flamingos in Israel’s Hula Valley are enjoying their summer vacation so much that they have decided not to migrate this year.
