Gold medals in France for wine in Israel

Les Caves du Golan recently awarded the trophy for their fortresses from Yarden Chardonnay 2009 Odem Organic Vineyard. The award was presented at the Citadelles du Vin 2011, an international competition held in Bordeaux. The award ceremony took place in preview Vinexpo in Bordeaux.

The competition of Citadels Wine is considered one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world. During the 2011, thousands of wines from a dozen countries were judged by an international panel of wine experts. In Vinitaly in April, the wine has received the Great Gold Medal, the best reward of the competition in Verona, as does the Yarden Heights Wine 2008.

In addition, the Golan Winery received the Gran Prix Special Award and Vitaly have been voted the best wine producer, beating over 1,000 competitors from 30 countries. “Given the tremendous success Vinitaly, the price of the Citadels of wine is all the more gratifying,” said Victor Schoenfeld, the winemaker and chief winemaker of the Golan Heights Winery.

Since their inception in 1983, the Caves du Golan market their wines under three labels: Yarden, Gamla and Golan. Today, this vineyard is considered the largest producer of Israel on wine quality, technological innovation and variety development.
