Steve Ornstein – Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Lately, I had this image of our PM looking into a mirror and asking that same question of who is the fairest of them all. It appears that Bibi only sees himself in response. But behind the question and his image are all the Israelis asking for relief from the poverty they face daily.

Mirror mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all. Bibi. But behind this second request are all the Israeli’s from Ethiopia crying out to him to let their family members enter Eretz Yisrael and be reunited. But Bibi appears only to see himself. He seems to be blind to our  Jewish brethren that don’t look like him.

Mirror mirror on the wall ..again he sees himself instead of the pensioners asking for help and economic relief.

Mirror mirror on the wall. Behind Bibi’s image are the citizens inundated by the “refugees from Sudan and other places that came here to get away from economic and physical hardships only To be sent to the poorer areas of Tel Aviv and beyond with little or no Government support or help.

Mirror mirror on the wall. Who are the supporters that keep me in power? Not any of the above the mirror replies. Certainly not the youth that is crying out for affordable housing instead of paying exorbitant rental prices while he owns a villa in Caesarea. Smoking cigars and drinking fine wine.

Mirror mirror on the wall Bibi asks again regarding his supporters, and the reply is to give money to the anti-Zionists extreme religious parties that suck the blood out of the life of our country.

The Rabbinate that appears to constitute a fascist entitlement program to control religious persecution of those that are deemed not like them therefore not Jewish and therefore unable to marry and divorce in our own country.

Blind to all this our PM declares fear-based threats about Israeli-Arabs voting in mass, the leftist’s trying to undermine his position. Accusing the courts of trying to undermine his authority as if he was King of Israel.  I might remind him that we were warned about allowing Kings to rule our land.

And now our AG is under threat because he may recommend indictments against our PM for illegal activity.

When does this end? When does this insensitive behavior toward our country, people and nation stop?

When Begin was PM, many felt threatened by his politics. But all would agree he LOVED this country and LOVED his people. I am sad to say this is not the case with our present Prime Minister or the current government.

We are in great need for real leadership that LOVES our country and that can put the best interests our country above petty politics. But it takes a great leader that we desperately need. Be it he/she from the left-center or the right.

New elections will soon be upon us as we look to the future. My preference is for leaders of all persuasion to transcend their desire for power and see beyond one’s selfishness and witness in the mirror their people crying out for help!
