This is a five part series in English presented by Alma College in Tel Aviv. Part four Yair discusses the Sexuality and Mysticism in Song of Songs. Yair Lipshitz has completed his PHD at the department for Theater Arts in Tel aviv University, writing on the body as a hermeneutical site for Jewish textual culture in theater and drama. He lectures at the Department for theater Arts in Tel Aviv University and at Alma.
His book, The Holy Tongue, Comedy’s Version: International Dramas on the Stage of ” A Comedy of Betrothal” was published by Bar-Ilan University Press (2010). He has also published papers on Renaissance Italian-Jewish theater, early 20th century Jewish theater and drama, and the body in Rabbinic literature. Yair is a published playwright, working with Jewish cultural sources in his drama. His play, A Moment of Relief, was included in the Hebrew anthology New Voices in Israeli Drama (2006)
