Israeli-British immigrant to Israel makes it in the Arts. Michael Shine is a very special person. His talents are varied and he has a wicked sense of humor. Although he loves acting he is open to all kinds of possibilities and opportunities. Living in Israel ones needs to be a” jack of all trades”.
Michael Shine was born in London, England and after schooling worked for a brief time in advertising followed by retail sales in Carnaby Street and King’s Road Chelsea during the height of the “Swinging 60’s”.
In 1970 he made ‘aliya’ to Israel, firstly living for a while on Kibbutz Mazuba before entering the army and serving during the ‘Yom Kippur’ war as a tank driver in the artillery corps. After his release from his national service he was employed in the reception area of the Tel Aviv Hilton before becoming the Front Office Manager of the Grand Beach Hotel (also in Tel Aviv).
He returned to the UK in 1981 with his then wife, Jeanette, brought up two daughters and was predominantly employed in the Financial Services area until returning to Israel in 2008. Since then he has tutored Israeli businessmen in conversational English, lectured in English at the Or Yehuda Michlala, been a voiceover talent and appeared in a number of TV commercials.
