Defending Israeli Citizens from Terrorist Fire

This is a report from Honest Reporting (see links) that I felt was of upmost importance.

Mel Alexenberg wrote: “Steps to Peace on an Islamic Rug” How?

This week almost 100 Qassam and Grad rockets were fired at Israeli towns killing a student and leaving four young children fatherless. Scores of citizens in shock and wounded. This is not in the interest of peace, but an attempt at a self-fulfilling “Wizard of Oz” drama. It appears real, but it is only in black and white with little remaining once the curtain is unveiled.

Good friends in the Jewish Renewal community

We now are at a unique junction. There just may be something real that can be contributed to preventing/delaying a next war with Hizbullah in Lebanon.
In the last few years there has been a steady and consistent criticism of Israel for its withdrawal first from Lebanon then from Gaza without negotiations, unilaterally. This criticism, raised by the Arab and echoed by The Left confounds me. If we held negotiations, and the demands raised by Lebanon or the PA in Gaza were unacceptable, does that mean that we should not withdraw?
But more to the current situation.
In 2006 Israel did indeed negotiate with Lebanon, the US, France, and the Quartet over conditions for ending the conflict in Lebanon. One of the conditions agreed upon was that Hizbullah would not be allowed to re-arm. We know that the rockets Hizbullah fired at Israel came from Iran via Syria. This agreement has been violated from its first week by Syria and Hizbullah. There is speculation that Syria is interested in defecting investigations into its role in the political assassination of the Lebanese president.Meanwhile Iran also has its own interests in chaos without concern for the well being for the people of Lebanon.

Rockets falling on Israeli town of Sderot

Rockets falling on Israeli town of Sderot May 25 As we continue to hear of the rockets falling on Gaza, as it becomes evident that there is little Israel can do to prevent this totally, I can not help but wonder; why does not every representative of the state of Israel, begin every public statement, press conference, or interview with the simple statement:
“It is now __ months, __weeks & __days since Israel completely ended the occupation of Gaza unconditionally. In that time there have been __ unprovoked rocket attacks on Israeli towns!” Non-official Israelis traveling abroad can also be encouraged to make this pronouncement.
