Moses’s Other Song – Ha’azinu

By David Hazony It’s one of the least-sung songs in the Bible.  Known as the “Song of Moses,” or shirat ha’azinu among traditional Jews, the poem that takes up almost the entirety of this week’s Torah reading is twice as long as Moses’s better-known Song of the Sea, which appears right after the parting of the Red Sea in Exodus and is part of Judaism’s traditional daily morning prayers.  If the Song of the Sea was Moses’s hit single, the Song of Moses was the B-side.

The Shofar is intertwined with the concept of Redemption

Another Point of View. ROSH HASHANAH (by Yehuda HaKohen). Since the time of our liberation from Egypt, the Israeli Nation has sounded the shofar to inaugurate our new year. Chief Rabbi Avraham Yitzhak HaKohen Kook explains that the order of the shofar blasts – tekiah, shevarim-teruah, tekiah – describes the inherent essence of all world events. From the perspective of man, the blasts actually parallel HaShem’s stature in the world as perceived throughout the annals of human history.

To be Healthy Just Be Happy Says leading Israeli Researchers

By : The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Based on that definition, two Israeli doctors, Dr. Dina Eisen and Dr. Lilach Meltski, have developed a system called “Synapsot,” or otherwise “Optimistic Health Promotion,” that encouraged patients to be healthy by being happy.
