I hate the word 'occupation'. It's called self-defense.

sabashimon.

I don't understand why you would be willing to give up E.Jerusalem, all of Yesh and the Golan, even if peace was possible. Why should Israel ever give up the tiny piece of land that makes up Israel?

"Undivided Jerusalem, keeping the Golan, and no RoR………period. If the Pals don’t like it, they can keep choking on sand like the rest of the Arab societies who are still living in the 7th century"

Agreed.

"The key is for there to be a reason for the people of Israel to believe that an end to the occupation will not lead to a great danger from the enemy up close; a repeat of the Gaza experience. It could be called a political horizon, if someone can figure that out, we may have a chance.'

As an Israeli who has fought in two wars and raised a family on the Golan, I've always said that for a real, true peace....an end to the conflict once and for all, I'd be willing to give up all of YESH, even including E. Jerusalem, and the Golan too.
But seeing as that is simply impossible for the Muslim world to accept, and I don't believe that we will ever be accepted as a sovereign Jewish Nation smack dab in the middle of Dar al Islam, then we need a leader who will have the baetzim to set our red lines and stand by them.
Undivided Jerusalem, keeping the Golan, and no RoR.........period. If the Pals don't like it, they can keep choking on sand like the rest of the Arab societies who are still living in the 7th century
And (this is important)......start weaning ourselves off the American teat so that we can start to act as the sovereign nation we are, acting in our OWN interests, and begin to regain some of our self respect......something sadly lacking at the moment
