Prof. Rubinsky and Students Sparking a Helping Hand

Today I read a simply wonderful and inspiring piece from the Jerusalem Post. It was titled “Sparking a Helping Hand“. It went on to describe the wonderful life of Prof. Boris Rubinsky in his quest to invent new ways to help the poor regions of the world and inspire his students to do the same. His brilliance and unique abilities to find simple remedies that make life easier and safer in places where electricity is all but nonexistent is remarkable if not a miracle.

His Center for Bioengineering in the Service of Humanity and Society at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem appears to be a center for students that enjoy the comfort of knowing that their work helps humanity and those especially in need.

“Today Palestinian students work alongside their Israeli colleagues”. Aside from the occasional “pro-Palestinian” that rejects cooperation.  The centers approach to problem-solving is to keep things simple. This seems to be the successful mantra that
inspires his students to explore and produce opportunities that are already enhancing the global community.

As Prof Rubinsky so eloquently has stated,” “You need some money with which to live,”…. “but you don’t need so much money and you don’t get the same level of satisfaction from millions of dollars that you have from saving millions of lives.”
